Whether it’s counselling for abuse you’ve suffered or counselling for addiction or to deal with other issues like depression or trauma, my counselling and pyschotherapy services are here to help you.

Counselling for Abuse

My counselling service extends support to individuals grappling with various forms of abuse such as 1)Domestic abuse: Men and women experiencing abuse in any of the following forms: violence, controlling behaviour (coercive control), put downs, financial abuse, walking on eggshells etc. 2)Sexual abuse: Can be from childhood or more recent abuse. 3)Physical abuse: is an act of another party involving contact intending to cause physical pain or injury or other physical suffering and 4)Emotional abuse: often associated with situations with power imbalance in the home or workplace (bullying).

Addiction Counselling

If you are concerned about your own use or abuse of Alcohol, Drugs or and Gambling or other behavioural addictions (like sex or porn) and would like information on addictions or would like help and support to stop the cycle of destruction on your life, then I can help. If you are new to a 12-Step programme and would like help to understand the steps, concepts and how it works, I can help you.

Anxiety Counselling

Having anxious thoughts is exhausting. Understanding where your anxiety comes from or what triggers your anxiety is the beginning of working with anxious thoughts. Centring yourself in the here and now and learning coping strategies will help you navigate your days and nights in a more restful and proactive way. I use mindfulness, grounding and gentle exploration to guide you through your experiences.

Counselling for Depression

Depression is a mental health disorder characterized by persistent feelings of sadness, hopelessness, and a lack of interest or pleasure in activities. It goes beyond normal fluctuations in mood that everyone experiences and can significantly impact a person’s daily life, relationships, and overall well-being. There are many ways to deal with depression, I find CBT is very effective guided by the Person-Centred approach.

Counselling for Trauma

I have a lot of experience working with clients suffering with various forms of trauma. Trauma from childhood can last a lifetime. Recovering from trauma involves building bridges in our minds to re-connect lost parts of ourselves. I can help you connect and overcome the shadows of trauma. Inner child work can be utilised to help heal the childhood trauma and free you from the pain. This involves some homework and journaling around the memories.

Relationship Counselling

For relationships there are various therapeutic approaches, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and systemic therapy, depending on the specific needs and goals that you have. My goal is to provide support, guidance, and tools for individuals to build and maintain healthier, more fulfilling relationships.

Counselling for Self Esteem

Self-esteem plays a crucial role in mental and emotional well-being, influencing thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. Building and maintaining healthy self-esteem often involves self-reflection, challenging negative beliefs, setting realistic goals, and cultivating self-compassion. The therapeutic relationship is the ideal place to develop a healthy self-esteem and I can help you on your journey.

Counselling for Stress

Stress is a natural response to challenges or demands, but when it becomes overwhelming or prolonged, it can negatively impact mental and physical well-being. Common stressors include work pressures, relationship issues, and life changes. Managing stress is crucial for maintaining a healthy balance. I can help you cope and deal with the stress in your life.

Counselling for Shame

If you are experiencing shame, you may feel as though you are fundamentally flawed, defective, or undeserving of acceptance and belonging. Shame is a corrosive thread that can weave its way through our lives. I can help you develop a more truthful view of yourself by accessing the source of that shame and help you develop self-compassion (which is the antidote to shame)
